Book
In 1984, to the surprise of my peers, I walked out of a burgeoning career as a successful recording artist. Though I had always loved music and performing, I never returned. I didn’t quite know why I needed to leave, all I knew was that I was beginning to fray around the edges; my health was beginning to suffer from the habits I had accumulated, and life was beginning to feel dull in a way in which it never had before. I had always assumed life would continue to burn with the same bright flame as it had in my youth, but now a mysterious darkness was leaking out and staining the air around me, and when I looked at my friends and acquaintances, I realised the same thing was happening to them.
